TWINNING Program Italy-Slovak Repubblic (Improvement of the Safety, Quality And Availability of Organs, Tissues and Cells)

This twinning between Italy and the Slovak Republic was funded by the European Commission through the Phare program. The project had four components: the launch of the project and preparation of an analysis of the state of the art, design and development of a quality management system, development of appropriate software and preparation of guidelines, brochures and information leaflets for the improvement of the system and to implement what is foreseen by the Directive 2004/23 / EU, and proposing models of training for the staff involved. Main actor was the Resident Twinning Adviser (RTA), an Italian surgeon who has moved for one year in the Slovak Republic to oversee the implementation of the project.
