COORENOR (Coordinating a European Initiative among national organizations for organ transplantation)
June 2010 – Dec. 2012
CNT Coordinator and leader WP5 (deceased donation)
The project aimed to create a network of organizations in the field of donation and transplantation of organs of several European countries, in order to identify benchmarking programs and improve existing systems. Results of particular importance have emerged from activities related to donation from deceased donor and organ exchange. Coordinated by the CNT, the project involved 12 partners from 11 EU countries. Thanks to the portal created by COORENOR, it was possible to speed up some international exchange of organs between Italy, Czech Republic, Poland and France, helping to reduce ischemia time and to optimize the use of the international pool of available organs.
